Are there any other ways to accomplish this?

anyone know where to send my hard disk for data recovery?
My hard disk damaged.
Around KL or Petaling.
Thanks

I mean that no data recovery software can recover it.

Im fed up with my pc and im getting a new one, im paying alot to get it fixed every few weeks,, im throwing it away but theres one thing, i need certain files that were on my hard drive, how can retrieve them, i know theres thousands of hard drive recovery software around. Is there anyway i can remove the hard drive and link it up to my laptop. Any help would be appreciated

Somewhat hypothetical situation:

Computer user wrote a games application in the mid-1990s stored on floppy disk (non-MFM format; actually, GCR, or Group Code Recording). User has tried virtually everything to recover the source code to this game, and even sent said floppy disk to data recovery lab for analysis.

Other than remarking to client that data recovery would cost "several thousand dollars" and "wasn’t, generally, worth the expense," said lab sent disk back to consumer.

Short of using a time machine to go back in time and recover the lost source code, what is consumer to do in order to restore the lost data (besides spending countless hours rewriting it, which isn’t a fun/desired option)? I’m assuming even places like NASA/NSA would give consumer blank and weird stares given the oldness of the storage medium, and perhaps wouldn’t be helpful in recovering the data at all.

Thanks,

Paul
Ok, this is embarrassing…TRS-80 level embarrassing. The game was written for the Commodore 128 (an old computer like the Commodore 64).

please help me

I have see BT Vault in the UK, Xdrive (AOL), but none of them is mac compatible. I am a freelance consultant, and I need some 5GB or up to 20GB of secure storage remotely to backup my files. Anybody would know of a good solution outthere? Thx

is the data really "gone" when we delete files (from recycle bin too) or format hard disk?? how is data recovery possible?? if data is still present in the disc? how can we "overwrite" it with other data after formatting the drive? in this sense why can’t a drive hold more data than it’s actual capacity?

My external hard drive died out of nowhere. I plugged it as usual and it didn’t detect. So I disassembled the external and installed that hard drive into the desktop. When I boot up into windows it detects the hard drive but it shows as an unallocated drive.

Is there any software (free or for purchase) that will allow me to see my data?

I have a Hewlett Packard media center computer and it has a problem booting up.. I heard there is a way to reinstall windows on the "factory image" partition and not lose all the data on my harddrives.. how do I find directions to do this? I have backup recovery disks (3 DVDs I burned), not a Vista installation disk.

Just upgraded to W7 64bit alienware m17x,now the recovery disk partition in the laptop(default) needs to be formatted, why is that?
i have another back up data in external disk.

I am in trouble. I dropped my laptop on the floor and now it won’t start. I had my college notes in it which I had been working on for 8 months. I was a fool to not have a backup for all those files. now I am in real trouble. I had stayed up all night for months working on the notes and now I think I have lost it all. when I tried starting the laptop it said ‘insert hard disk’ . so the hard disk has moved from it’s place, that’s okay but do you think the hard disk has been damaged and I have lost everything that was in it ? do you think i can still recover my data ?

i really need a good software to download that will recover the data from my hard drive, its really important.

thanks

I have several disks created using a Panasonic Word Process WD1500 I believe. The disks cannot be read on a computer, that I have tried. Is there a data recovery place or software that I can use?

I go to school 200 miles away from home and want to have a backup HD at home, Which I can access remotely from school. I run XP and am trying to avoid having a computer at home just to access the HD. If a computer is nessesary, how to set it up for me to login. I will be buying a external which can be attatched Via USB AND attatched to my home network via ethernet/cat 5 cable

I changed the computer and try to use my old 200 Seagate IDE NTFS at the new vista computer. When I connected the IDE disk, I saw it at Bios and also at the computer management in dynamic form.
Unfortunately, I converted the dynamic disk to basic disk w/o back up.

Now disk wants to be formated when I try to acces from "My computer" in every computer I connect to.

Is there a way to recover data.
would you please be specific more that saying try this software, maybe it helps.

I am sure someone has faced this problem and I would like to hear if there is an exact solution..
Thank you in advance for all..
Dear Alno M,
Thank you for your great help w/o knowing me what I have done before I wrote here. Also thank you for focusing on the detail I have written at the end of my question in order to prevent people saying use getdataback or something I can no able to use know for private reasons..
Thank you for all the answers. I will try them and inform you about the result asap.

My end of term paper was lost by my professor and I am 99% sure that it is on this floppy. When inserted, I right click on the A: drive in My Computer and click Properties. Shows available space is 1.38 MB, not 1.44 MB. But it doesn’t show any files whatsoever. It was saved in Word. Ended up getting a C in an easy A class because of this. The disk spent a lot of time in a hot car this summer….
Hey smart ass… this paper was done on a shared computer at school. I was not aware that my teacher did not have it until the middle of the summer, after student drive space was cleared.
I think you’re right about the 1.38 thing. I have 2 yellow floppies, the other says it is not formatted and I can’t read it either, unless I format/erase it, which I haven’t done. Maybe paper is on that one.

Hi,
Whats the best hard disk (NTFS) data recovery available for free. If you tell me link to download, i shall be very thankful to you.

When i try to double click and enter the hard disk partition it says "I:\ is not accessible. The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable.".
The same thing happens to most of the hard disk partitions. Plz help me 2 recover the files. Or tell me a software which can read files and recover inside corrupt hard disks! Plz help me! Thanx in advance.
