I have a hard disk that I formatted like a dumb ass when I wasn’t supposed to I know there is software for 0 you can buy but what software really works? What ones have you had luck with? Please let me know.

I’m gonna buy an iMac, and I want to be able to back up important files to a safe remote site. Does Apple offer this? Or does a competing vendor have something good? It’ll help if I can retrieve backed up files to either an Apple or a Windows computer.

I want to recover some files that I have in some floppy disks. I´ve tried several softwares and some of them have worked. Tried Undelete Plus and Recova but none of them worked for me (with Undelete Plus I don´t know why but I only had the option to scan C: drive only, not floppy or any other drive, and Recova found errors and didn´t do anything for me).
The one that worked is Active@ Floppy Recovery 2.0, it showed all my files in the floppy disk! But as it is a demo version I cannot recover all my files.
The thing is I´m sure my files are there and I can recover them but I need a good FREE software to recover them ALL. I don´t want to pay since there are only 2 floppy disks and I´m never going to use the software again!
I no longer use floppy disks! It´s all about USB memory disks now….

Please tell me, which software do you recommend?? please please pleaseeeee!!!

ps. the problem with my floppy disks is the classic note that they no longer have formatt and if I want to formatt them… but I haven´t done anything like that cuz I know I can recover my files….

list six recommended tasks or features that i should use as part of my regular disk maintenance schedule. identify the type of task the name of the program how frequently the task should be performed and what precautions i should take and the recommended tasks are performed using tools within windows XP.

1] Does the sytem creat an exact replica of the data selected for backup ?

2] Where is the backup file stored and will it be not lost if hard disk fails ?

3] How is the data restored using backup file ? If I have a tree of folderes, sub-folders, files etc. which have been backed up, will they be restored in the same order during the data restoration process ?

4] What are the pros and cons of backing up data on an external disk like CD or DVD ?

5] How does the backup file act during restoration process ?

PS: Please do not suggest a web article unless it has a comprehensive information.

Please share price, websites, names and contact info. for recovering data from a damaged Hard Disk Drive.

We trust him and all to work on the network, we have 2 Dell R900 Servers Running AD, SQL and Exchange, so I know the consumer products are not going to work. Just want to confirm that Citadel Remote Backup is the industry leader or whatever.

Need a full backup of the 320 Gb disk. If anyone has done this before. What are the exact steps I shall follow?
I had a few logical drives with different filesystems, how do I make sure the recovery software interprets this correctly!

My hard drive took a fall a while back, and now I am left wondering if the data is recoverable. The drive still spins, and doesn’t make any bad noises, so I know thats a good sign, but it doesn’t show up in Windows. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good software for recovering files from the drive. Also, if anyone knows of a program that has a free trial that shows me all the files that it would be able to recover if I actually brought the program, that would be ideal. thanks

i formated it unfortunatley.

I am recent grad looking for a job. That means I need the laptop badly and don’t have much money to fix it. The hard disk, started giving off some really loud noises in the morning and by afternoon, BIOS wasn’t even detecting it. I am not sure how long it would take to fix this and how much a new one would cost. Same about data recovery too. Any suggestions or advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Please provide me the name of that software.

I have many downloads and other stuff. I don’t know how to backup my data on a disk. The files don’t give me a copy to cd option so I copied all the folders to My Pictures but I don’t know if I burn the disk from there if it will work right when I need to use the backup disk.

I would like to make some sort of remote backup server so that I can schedule certain computers from different locations backup to a central station. We have a static ip, windows server 2003 and windows small business server 2003 if that helps at all. Does anyone do this themselves or know how to do it? I really don’t want to have a service do it, I don’t like the idea of our private company files being with someone else. Thanks!

My old computer had a runshell.exe error and I ned a recovery disk but I had lost mine a long time ago…
It isnt my computer it is my friends old laptop. Mainly for programming since any of the other versions are so restricting.. Duh and dont post unless you have an answer. Or I will report you

Could you please tell me where i could find a FULL version of the software instead of the the limited versions which don’t let you save your recovered files?
Thanks a lot

I want to purchase external portable hard disk for backup data purposes mostly. Reliability and quality is very important.

What can you recommend?
Western Digital Passport External Hard Drives Often Fail, Because One USB’s Power Is Not Enough To Spin Up The Drive.

i have a problem when i wan to changing into a new hard disk on my laptop

i already backup my old data hard disk on my new hard disk via usb.

then i restore data into that new hard disk again to recall anything into my new hard disk (hope all be copy, i mean anything like windows, data, anything, everything),

and i change the hard disk, and when i startup my laptop, and didnt not work properly,

no windows came out, only blank black show and the notification is

"insert data disc contain system" (i think), i forgot what the notification is

my mission is to change hard disk but avoiding re -install all my program

thanks for your information, answer

A friend lost many prized pictures when his hard drive failed. The drive quit suddenly rather than making any noise hinting at a problem. I believe motor or electronics have failed rather than a head crash.

MANY choices are found searching for "data recovery service"!

Can someone recommend a particular company to deal with?
