Can Citadel Remote Backup encrypt a local drive and backup remote?
I don’t want to wait to restore non catastrophe files, so if I can also backup to a local external harddrive AND keep it encrypted. I know there a lot of products that can’t do that at all. I looked at something a year or so ago, but you needed to purchase a ,000 box with the key that sits next to the machine. So either way, it’s a huge pain, I heard that Citadel Remote Backup can, thanks.
We use Citadel backup on our SBS server here in my shop, and we love it. It backs up our exchange, SQL and AD, whats great is you can use it to a local drive, and since we only have a SDSL circuit, we can restore very quickly from our USB device, and in case of a huge problem my data is also offsite.
YES, it can use and external hard drive, and NO, there is no appliance that you’re forced to use.
During a restore it can look to the local drive, so you won’t be waiting hours to move data across the wire.
It’s a good product, I used it at my last job. God luck with them, it’s a good group.
Hey, I’d rather restore local than remotely, No brainer. Why waste al the time and bandwidth. Then of course if there’s a fire I’m still protected
Im using Citadel Backup now as a solutions to our healthcare network… the software allows for us to keep a local copy and remote copy.
Sure thing.. as an it manager… we have tried many software products out there that claim they do remote backup and come to find out they are running a garage operation from their home selling software…. We r using Citadel as a remote backup option in addition to our backup exec… thinking we might just do away with our existing software and go with citadel enterprise level software.
I am an IT manager here in Yonkers, we use CitadelBackup, because its ease of use and true backup capabilities, Open backup and Hippa complaince makes this the software we use in our doctors office.
