Disk Data Recovery Archives

Im useing my recovery disk that I just made to load on my new hardrive that I just installed. Will any internet or personal data be transfered to the new hardrive?

I know that there are some data recovery softwares which restores removed files but are there any softwares that would clean all the removed data names so that no one would know what files were removed from the disk?

I have an employee who was up to no good. I want to recover some of the data that she erased on her machine. Does anyone know the name of any software that might be useful in recovering the data? Any help would be extremely appreciated!

My Hard Disk is not being recognized by BIOS
Yesterday while watching movie on my PC it appeared as black on the screen and stopped working. After restarting the PC it was not responding as the BIOS was unable to recognize the hard disk. It creates an unusual sound while BIOS searches drives.

1. I tried by bootting the PC using another hard disk but this HD does not appear in the windows.
2. I also tried to boot using Ubuntu live CD but failed to find my HD on it.

As it is not recognized by BIOS, I cann’t use data recovery software to recover the data. I’m badly in need of all data in it.

Please someone help me in this regard to recover the data.

Brand: SAMSUNG
Model: HD252HJ
Capacity : 250 GB
Interface : Serial ATA 3.0 Gbps
Buffer memory : 16MB

I had two SATA 250GB drive in a RAID 0 setup. Both working together. My primary SATA hard drive had a malfunction and I had to remove it, and replaced it with a new drive. Computer works fine.

But unfortunately I lost some data. I can’t even find it in my backup. I think it’s still in that malfunctioning hard drive.

When I put the "bad" hard drive into a docking bay and hook it up to my computer, the computer will recognize it. But it says do you want to format the disk? Of course I have not.

The disk is still usable, but has no operating system. Are there any ways for me to recover data from that disk? How do I find out if there’s still even data on the disk?

Any help or suggestions are welcomed.

So laptop is dead because of motherboard. They say it’s unrepairable. If I wanna replace mobo, it’s going to be almost a price of new laptop.

Another option is date recovery. What does it actually mean? Does it mean I’d get all my data like documents and photos as Hard disk is not corrupted at all?

Are they gonna give me all those in one CD? I have no experience at all.
Is 50 pounds reasonable? Actually I’d lose 35 pounds for delivery already if I didn’t take any of their service. So it’s like 15 pounds for data recovery. Thank you for prompt reply.

is there a free and easy software that recovers data even from formatted hard drives? and what type of files you can recover?
i know but i would like it if someone has tried it personaly

I was running a defrag program on a hard drive and accidentally copied some data to the hard drive at the same time. My computer completely froze before I had a chance to cancel it.

When I tried to turn my computer it wouldn’t restart and just froze on the loading Windows 2000 screen after 8 bars showed up. I unplugged the hard drive and was surprised that the computer then started up fine. The reason I was surprised is the OS is not on that hard drive.

I then powered up my computer and plugged in the damaged hard drive to an external device so it shows up as an external drive. When I go to it I see it as having nothing at all (0 bytes free and 0 total).

What should my next step be in the morning? Should I run disk check, defrag, or anything else first? Or should I run a disc recovery program first?

I want someone introduce me a software for formatting a hard beyond recovery.

My remote controll just stop working, locking unlocking, trunk release all together. I thought it was the battery so I changed it, did
not help! I even tried my backup remote, but no sucess! Please help me find a solution!
Thanks

I have a Western Digital USB external hard drive. I had it for about a year and all of a sudden the thing starts making a ticking noise when you turn it on, but when you plug it into the usb port, vista makes the sound that it detects the drive, but it does not show up and I cannot access it. I have tried all different types of data recovery software, but they also do not detect my drive. So i’m thinking about sending it to one of the data recovery labs. How exactly does this process work? and about how much would it cost me (it is a 500 gb hard drive with about 200 gb used up)? and about how long would it take for me to get my drive/files back from them?
thanks for all the answers everybody. i know that taking it to a data specialist will be pretty expensive, but around what range are we talking? and where are some of the places that I could take it to?

my 40GB Hard Disk stopped working, it is not detecting at all. I have another hard disk with OS installed which is working fine. But other one suddenly disappeared. I removed it & tried all possible ways but it was not detecting on any systems.

I have 40GB of my data in it which I can’t afford to loose. Can anyone please help me with this? How can I recover all my data?

My friend’s lap top suddenly turned off out of nowhere and everything she had is now deleted. I was the last one that worked with the lap top so i feel a big guilt . She had some very important docs in the C: section. Does anyone knows how to recover data from C: disk and is it possible after reinstalling the windows ?
I wasn’t messing with the OS i only was playing a simple sudoko game :( . And the windows was preinstalled by a service for computers and they probably rewrite the disk. Is any help for that ?
After the lap top turned off i tried to start it and it was starting up but the windows didn’t open. I had only black monitor with one sparkling line.

I’m confused about the whole recovery disk thing. i did the recovery without the disk but it said before that i wouldn’t lose any data files. what was the recovery disk supposed to be?
and after i did the recovery, the computer now says that the ntldr is compressed and i have to press control alt delete but it keeps on coming back. HELP!!!!

I’m looking at Citadel Remote Backup for our company, we have ten people, and I like the insurance of offsite backup. My Computer Guy recomended Citadel Remote Backup, and we trust him, so if he’s he’s not playing straight with us, I’m going to beat the heck out him.
Thing is, the kid is on his honeymoon and I have an old proposal to upgrade three servers to 64 bit and buy an ISCSISAN (?) and the new proposal for Remote Backup before he left. I wanted to give him both when he gets back, but want to be sure first Citadel Remote Backup is 64bit without letting on that’s what I’m doing. Thanks ina advance.

I had pictures I deleted out of my recycling bin and since then I reformatted/went back to factory settings twice. I have vista with a recovery hard drive separate from the other one. Is there any software I can use to get it back?.. The pictures were deleted 2 years ago too

Will my external hard disk break down if I store too much data in it?
My external hard disk is almost full. However, I kept trying to store more data. Suddenly all the icons of my files in my external hard disk dissppeared. However, it showed that there is only 5MB left. But I can’t find any of my files. They are all missing. Then, I unplugged the external hard disk . Now my laptop can’t detect my external hard disk after I plugged the hard disk drive back into the laptop. My external hard disk has been making some " sizzling sound " and very hot .
However, my laptop can detect my friend’s external hard disk.

Question 1) As the title question
Question 2) I really wanna recover all my files. Should I take into the data recovery specialist? Or I reapair it my self ?
Question 3) I believe I haven’t dome anything wrong to my external hard disk. Why do I deserve this ? Can this be avoidable?

I ‘ve just bought my external hard disk for several months. It’s name is Maxtor OneTouch Mini4 ( 160GB)
Thanks

Hi….
I have a USB hard disk and appears that on e of my friend has pulled teh USB cable while the hard disk was being accessed by system. AS a result I can not access three drives of my USB hard disk. Please let me know how to recover the data from my disk. Any help appreciated…

I have an old Portege 4000 that I just recently put a new hard drive in. When I try and load the original software (via recovery discs), I get a "WRONG MACHINE!" error. I realize that this has to do with the DMI and the fact that I’ve changed the hard drive out, but what can I do/change so that I can run the original discs in it?

I have a disk with a trashed MFT. I’m looking at R-Studio Data Recovery 5.1 build 130043 as a tool to recover my data… It supposedly got good ratings on Cnet but they aren’t showing user’s comments.
Has anyone used this tool or can you recommend a better one? R-Studio Data Recovery 5.1 costs !!!!! Ow.

I’m looking for the best online (remote) backup solution for my Mac. Any ideas? Thanks in advance..
