   the first thing you should do is to stop using the hard disk in order to avoid data overwritting.
   It depends on how was your disk damaged?
   if it is logically damaged, you can recover you lost data on your own.
   if the data is very important and you care more about it than just few dollars, I suggest you should seek professional software.

   if the disk is still usable but you’ve lost all your data you can download this free program http://www.easeus-deletedrecovery.com/ and it might restore all your lost files, it worked for me
