   Depends on how its damaged. If its simply a corrupt installation on the drive, you can connect it as a slave and possibly see the files in my computer. If its a mechanical failure, you would need to take it to a specialist. He will pull out the disk and try to copy the data. Your data better be worth the money tho! Its not cheap to have someone do this and it may not produce the desired results anyway.

   there are softwares out there that can recover deleted/lost data but are quite costly… So unless you are willing to dish out a few bucks I don’t think you have many options. Plus, a damaged hard drive might not even be recovered since it’s hardware and not software that is screwed up
