I was attempting to create data recovery discs on Windows Vista when…..?
Vipre, our new "miracle" antivirus, quarantined the program. And it won’t let me have it back. When i tried to get the components of the CD Creator, it automatically deleted them.
The file that was deleted:
CD Creator.exe
Can i do anything at this point?
Delete your antivirus program (why did you install programs before making a recovery disk?) If that doesn’t work you’ll have to reinstall Windows. (Are you sure it’s an ANTI-virus, not just a virus?)
Sounds like your CD Creator was pirated and that "CD Creator.exe" was a patch or crack that replaced the original "CD Creator.exe" in order to bypass registration. The exe file most likely contained a virus. This is a common problem with pirated programs
You can go find another pirate copy CD Creator and hope it doesn’t have a virus in it or go buy a legitimate copy.
If you purchased a legitimate copy of CD Creator, send their Tech Support an email complaining and asking what to do.
