My Compaq Presario’s hard disk crashed. I need data recovery and a new disk fast and cheap. Any ideas anyone?
I am recent grad looking for a job. That means I need the laptop badly and don’t have much money to fix it. The hard disk, started giving off some really loud noises in the morning and by afternoon, BIOS wasn’t even detecting it. I am not sure how long it would take to fix this and how much a new one would cost. Same about data recovery too. Any suggestions or advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

First off, you will need to replace your hard drive. Without more info, such as the model number, I can’t give you step by step instructions. You can pick up a new 2.5 inch HDD at any computer store, or Best Buy, etc. You will need to know the specs on the one you are replacing; mostly the interface.
