My windows xp has crashed, want to recover files from hard drive?
Im fed up with my pc and im getting a new one, im paying alot to get it fixed every few weeks,, im throwing it away but theres one thing, i need certain files that were on my hard drive, how can retrieve them, i know theres thousands of hard drive recovery software around. Is there anyway i can remove the hard drive and link it up to my laptop. Any help would be appreciated
If you know about the software, I will not go into it… But you can use either an external drive, hook it up as a "slave" inside the computer itself if you have the slot for it (may require buying a cable and power splitter cable) or even an external cable/power supply that does not require a case (for short term fixes)…

These cables have an advantage in that it can be used for multiple hard drives in the future and is easy to use because there is no case involved…
The best option is to hook it up to another computer as a SECOND hard drive. This will allow you to directly access the hard drive and copy files as needed.

you don’t need to pay anything to get it fixed if you know what you are doing wrong that causes the problem, you will have the same problem with any computer if you don’t operate it properly, most times you can "repair" it by using the recovery console, by doing a repair install or running a good antivirus or malware program like malwarebytes. either boot from the cd and do a recovery or if you don’t have one borrow a windows installation cd/dvd then you can do a repair install or run the recovery console by booting from the CD ( you may have to change the boot order in the bios) from the recovery console run first "chkdsk /r" then run "fixmbr" then run "Fixboot" then reboot. you can also download a recovery console image from the internet
