Our PC Guy says Citadel Remote Backup is the best remote backup software?
We trust him and all to work on the network, we have 2 Dell R900 Servers Running AD, SQL and Exchange, so I know the consumer products are not going to work. Just want to confirm that Citadel Remote Backup is the industry leader or whatever.
Im an it manager working for a presitigious fortune 500, we did away with our entire tape backup system and went with Citadel….. the software does both remote storate and localized backups… good thing about the backup trial is that its FREE! you have other characters out there which dont have merely as much specifics as this software does. It backs up at the bit level, does remote storage, local storage at the same time while backing up open files which saved our company about 300k. Good thing is that we’re running it from 1 server and not 13 like we used too. I’m a very satisfied customer!!! I had a terrible experience with a few other company which i will not mention on this answer…
Citadel is one of many quality products available, however I am not a fan. You should take a look at a new product http://www.backupspace.com/ it has a 1 dollar 25 GB trial so that you can play around with it. It encrypts your data, and has a scheduler function that has the backup run as a background task. You can also easily configure it to send you an e-mail when a backup is performed, telling you what files were backed up, and specific details about the backup. Has worked phenomenally for me thus far, and I highly recommend it to all!
Rather than listen to someone you trust, and ask some anonymous lurking vendors to try to hawk his own software, go to a real industry site,

or even http://www.bestremotebackup.net
If you don’t want to go with what your guy says, or want to doublecheck at leasyt do the research.
