I know that there are some data recovery softwares which restores removed files but are there any softwares that would clean all the removed data names so that no one would know what files were removed from the disk?

So laptop is dead because of motherboard. They say it’s unrepairable. If I wanna replace mobo, it’s going to be almost a price of new laptop.

Another option is date recovery. What does it actually mean? Does it mean I’d get all my data like documents and photos as Hard disk is not corrupted at all?

Are they gonna give me all those in one CD? I have no experience at all.
Is 50 pounds reasonable? Actually I’d lose 35 pounds for delivery already if I didn’t take any of their service. So it’s like 15 pounds for data recovery. Thank you for prompt reply.

Will my external hard disk break down if I store too much data in it?
My external hard disk is almost full. However, I kept trying to store more data. Suddenly all the icons of my files in my external hard disk dissppeared. However, it showed that there is only 5MB left. But I can’t find any of my files. They are all missing. Then, I unplugged the external hard disk . Now my laptop can’t detect my external hard disk after I plugged the hard disk drive back into the laptop. My external hard disk has been making some " sizzling sound " and very hot .
However, my laptop can detect my friend’s external hard disk.

Question 1) As the title question
Question 2) I really wanna recover all my files. Should I take into the data recovery specialist? Or I reapair it my self ?
Question 3) I believe I haven’t dome anything wrong to my external hard disk. Why do I deserve this ? Can this be avoidable?

I ‘ve just bought my external hard disk for several months. It’s name is Maxtor OneTouch Mini4 ( 160GB)
Thanks

please tell me about a software, that will recover all my data( after formation of hard disc)

with the same file names. My brother has used a software to recover data but not with the same file name, if there is no software that can recover data with same file name then tell me which software is best for data recovery.

Thanks in advance

I have a disk with a trashed MFT. I’m looking at R-Studio Data Recovery 5.1 build 130043 as a tool to recover my data… It supposedly got good ratings on Cnet but they aren’t showing user’s comments.
Has anyone used this tool or can you recommend a better one? R-Studio Data Recovery 5.1 costs !!!!! Ow.

I bought a 100Mb zip drive about 2 years ago. Recently when I tried to open documents on my zip but to no avail. Iomega company told me there was a problem with the disk. They told me I need to find a data recovery speacilist b/c they would charge me 0.
I really need to retrieve the documents or copy them on to another disk. Is there an inexpensive way to do this myself instead of paying a company more money than the zip actually cost?

how to prevent data recovery from flash or hard disk? is there any solution to format each sector of the hard disk to stop data restoration?

Has anyone ever done data recovery from an (external) hard disk?
There are some service/shops that do this, even if the disk is broken in two (mine is just not working somewhere in the power connection), but I don’t know the cost.
Have anyone do it so he can tell an estimated cost?

my daughter has a canon powershot and she was trying to re-set the time ad date. when it said "format" she clicked ‘yes’. it meant reformat the scadisk memory. there were pics of the last days of her 3 year old son, and his burial at sea. she is devistated. she sent it to a data recovery place but they could not do it because it was a low level format. does anyone know a place that can retrieve the pictures? thank you

i am looking to do data recovery work.

i am familiar with tools that are pre-installed prior to data loss.

however I am looking for a GUI tool that will run from CD so I can retreive data from clients hard-drives without having to install software to the pc.

installing can over-write data so is not a good idea.

i want to be able to pop in a cd, or usb key would do, then browse a drive and recover files to burn to dvd or cd.

then i can do a reinstall on the original drive or transfer files to a new pc.

Hi, I am looking for means (data recovery tool or any other method) by which I can recover data from a hard disk which was encrypted using Safeguard Easy from Utimaco. The data is absolutely important to me. The OS (XP) was formatted and safeguard reinstalled. However the old partitions remain beyond capture. If you can please help me in this, I would remain ever grateful.

I recently lost around half of my files and data due to the Disk Cleanup Utility on my PC. I would like to know which data recovery utility is best for recovering all of my files. I lost things like movies, music, program files, etc. Which program will recover them and put them back exactly where they were-the way they were? Price is no object for the programs. 10 points for the best answer.
Also, I have already tried System Restore and it did not work.

I need a data recovery from my SATA hard drive that failed. Can’t get data back. Had a recovery, but some important (sentimental) video files were not on recovery. I think it’s still there on the failed disk that I removed but kept.

Question is, are there any reputable companies that I can send my disk and have them recover all the data on that disk? Especially pictures and videos. I figure it’ll cost a lot, but I want the data if it’s still there.

Thanks for any advice.

My external drive decided to go bad today. unfortunately it does have a ton of data on it as i was just beginning to set up a new backup routine.
I need a good data recovery tool. It appears that the Master File table on the disk is trashed. It can be read find which i proved with a demo of a VERY expensive tool. Is there any thing in the freeware or cheap $$$ range that can help me pull my data off? Retaining directory structure and file names?
At this point, I just take the data intact…

Any recommendations? The utilities I’ve seen recommended on here were on websites that were rated unsafe by WOT and Mcafee SiteAdvisor.

Must run under XP.

Your experience based advice will be greatly appreciated.

I have lost some data in hard disk and I have successfully processed the data recovery, now I am copying the lost files to my hard disk in "Drive E" but I am receiving the message "The destination path you have selected is on the source partition. Please select a different destination"
Please Help Me, How Can I Recover It ???

Does the data recovery technique Consistency checking and Data Carving are equally valid for both HDD and SDD or they are simply for HDD only. These two process is effective in which media?

anyone know where to send my hard disk for data recovery?
My hard disk damaged.
Around KL or Petaling.
Thanks

Somewhat hypothetical situation:

Computer user wrote a games application in the mid-1990s stored on floppy disk (non-MFM format; actually, GCR, or Group Code Recording). User has tried virtually everything to recover the source code to this game, and even sent said floppy disk to data recovery lab for analysis.

Other than remarking to client that data recovery would cost "several thousand dollars" and "wasn’t, generally, worth the expense," said lab sent disk back to consumer.

Short of using a time machine to go back in time and recover the lost source code, what is consumer to do in order to restore the lost data (besides spending countless hours rewriting it, which isn’t a fun/desired option)? I’m assuming even places like NASA/NSA would give consumer blank and weird stares given the oldness of the storage medium, and perhaps wouldn’t be helpful in recovering the data at all.

Thanks,

Paul
Ok, this is embarrassing…TRS-80 level embarrassing. The game was written for the Commodore 128 (an old computer like the Commodore 64).

is the data really "gone" when we delete files (from recycle bin too) or format hard disk?? how is data recovery possible?? if data is still present in the disc? how can we "overwrite" it with other data after formatting the drive? in this sense why can’t a drive hold more data than it’s actual capacity?

I have several disks created using a Panasonic Word Process WD1500 I believe. The disks cannot be read on a computer, that I have tried. Is there a data recovery place or software that I can use?

Hi,
Whats the best hard disk (NTFS) data recovery available for free. If you tell me link to download, i shall be very thankful to you.

I am recent grad looking for a job. That means I need the laptop badly and don’t have much money to fix it. The hard disk, started giving off some really loud noises in the morning and by afternoon, BIOS wasn’t even detecting it. I am not sure how long it would take to fix this and how much a new one would cost. Same about data recovery too. Any suggestions or advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
