do anybody know where to download a free and working data recovery software? Please, need help ASAP
My Hard Disk is not being recognized by BIOS
Yesterday while watching movie on my PC it appeared as black on the screen and stopped working. After restarting the PC it was not responding as the BIOS was unable to recognize the hard disk. It creates an unusual sound while BIOS searches drives.
1. I tried by bootting the PC using another hard disk but this HD does not appear in the windows.
2. I also tried to boot using Ubuntu live CD but failed to find my HD on it.
As it is not recognized by BIOS, I cann’t use data recovery software to recover the data. I’m badly in need of all data in it.
Please someone help me in this regard to recover the data.
Brand: SAMSUNG
Model: HD252HJ
Capacity : 250 GB
Interface : Serial ATA 3.0 Gbps
Buffer memory : 16MB
I have a Western Digital USB external hard drive. I had it for about a year and all of a sudden the thing starts making a ticking noise when you turn it on, but when you plug it into the usb port, vista makes the sound that it detects the drive, but it does not show up and I cannot access it. I have tried all different types of data recovery software, but they also do not detect my drive. So i’m thinking about sending it to one of the data recovery labs. How exactly does this process work? and about how much would it cost me (it is a 500 gb hard drive with about 200 gb used up)? and about how long would it take for me to get my drive/files back from them?
thanks for all the answers everybody. i know that taking it to a data specialist will be pretty expensive, but around what range are we talking? and where are some of the places that I could take it to?
Trying to recover some files that disappeared after playing with partitions.
The laptop hard drive seems to have a lot of bad sectors however and is probably damaged. (Problems copying files, slow, etc.)
Should I try to to do data recovery first or try to fix the damaged drive. Will fixing the bad sectors affect the data recovery software?
I have an 80 Gb hard disk which had about 60 Gb of data and was formatted accidentally. After formatting, data was added to it. I now need to recover the previous 60 Gb of data. How can I recover this data and what data recovery software will do it?
I’ve been trying to get some files off a dead hard disk (i.e. one that reports RAW filesystem), using the data recovery software from http://www.datadoctor.in/. Unfortunately almost all files have failed to be recovered properly, even though the software has detected the structure of the directories, and the file names. The only files that seem to work are almost entirely within zip files.
Have I been doing something wrong?
Are there any alternative pieces of free software that would do a better job?
Thanks
I Need A famous and advanced Windows Data Recovery Software, I have downloaded most of the softwares but they do not detect the deleted folders, A folder has been deleted from my Hard Disk, and i am unable to recover that folder, Is there any Data Recovery Software which can detect and recover all kind(format) of files and big size folders? Please guide me.
My hard drive just decided to fail. the thing still works, but windows doesn’t even recognize it anymore. A friend of mine worked on it for all of five seconds and discovered that the file system read RAW instead of the original NTFS I formatted it with. I’ve search the internet for data recovery software, however, the price tag doesn’t make things any easier. I don’t want to be cheap or anything, I’ll pay the money…but I’m wondering is there a freeware or open source program out there that will do everything that the retail data recovery program can do?
For example: there’s a program called GetDataBack that will restore my files…but is there a free program that will do all GetDataBack (or equivalent) can do?
I’m just curious..
Thanks
If at all possible I would like to recover with the directory structure intact…
have not yet clicked on formatting , probably going to call a computer guy and make him try fix it. Plus should I Buy some Data Recovery Software? and can i prevent this from happening further on ? Suggest me the Best the Anti-Virus too!
Thanx
Love,
Nicoletta
I use my Apple iPod Shuffle as a memory stick. It was working fine yesterday. Today, it asks to be formatted. Last thing that I did systems-wise was Windows Update, Java update and a couple of reboots while the stick was plugged in.
Below is what Disk investigator shows. Maybe hidden sectors is a clue that the data is still there.

Tried downloading "encopy", a data recovery software but when I click on the stick drive, it asks to be formatted. I can’t get in to attempt recovery.
Can someone provide a solution, please?
Hi there,
My girlfriends hard drive has just died and I was wondering..
If any of you know any Data recovery software for Corrupt hard drives?
I can’t seem to find any, and we are not going to pay for a technician to use their own data recovery and spend hundreds on it :(.
Thanks,
Sam
I accidentally formatted my office hard drive and recreated new partitions too. Now, I am messing with my disk to recover some important documents from previously existing partitions. Tried too many professional software in past three days to undelete my lost files.
Anyone can suggest the best data recovery software for me?
I mean that no data recovery software can recover it.
I’m planning to sell my hard drive to a friend of mine and I’m worried if they might recover sensitive data from my hard drive using data recovery software.
