I just recently got a new PC and I installed my old hard drive as a slave. Unfortunately, I found that I cannot access the files on the drive.

So, I downloaded a recovery software (RecoverMyFiles) but all it does is search the hard drive and return thousands of files with their filenames renamed! The program shows checkboxes where the user is prompted to select the type of files they want to search but I find it inconvenient to find the exact files I need out of the thousands of search results!

All the files I need are contained in only one folder. Is there a software that can recover whole folders instead of just files? HELP!!!

I Need A famous and advanced Windows Data Recovery Software, I have downloaded most of the softwares but they do not detect the deleted folders, A folder has been deleted from my Hard Disk, and i am unable to recover that folder, Is there any Data Recovery Software which can detect and recover all kind(format) of files and big size folders? Please guide me.

1] Does the sytem creat an exact replica of the data selected for backup ?

2] Where is the backup file stored and will it be not lost if hard disk fails ?

3] How is the data restored using backup file ? If I have a tree of folderes, sub-folders, files etc. which have been backed up, will they be restored in the same order during the data restoration process ?

4] What are the pros and cons of backing up data on an external disk like CD or DVD ?

5] How does the backup file act during restoration process ?

I have many downloads and other stuff. I don’t know how to backup my data on a disk. The files don’t give me a copy to cd option so I copied all the folders to My Pictures but I don’t know if I burn the disk from there if it will work right when I need to use the backup disk.
