My system is Windows Vista Premium, with one disk with two partitions
Drive C: 366.35 GB, 85% Free.
Drive D: 7.44 GB , 0 % Free
Constantly comes out a warning sign tellin me that iI have "Low Disk Space", and that I am running out of disk space on Recovery (D) . and instructing me to make a Disk cleanup. I make a disk cleanup and defragmentacion of both partitions, but that does not work.
Can anybody show me how to make a different partition?
‘Partition Magic’ is not sure to work in Windows Vista. The systems that they specify are : Windows XP, and earlier systems. I’d like a program that will work in Windows Vista" .
I would like to increase drive "D at least to 25 GB.
Hi, I am looking for means (data recovery tool or any other method) by which I can recover data from a hard disk which was encrypted using Safeguard Easy from Utimaco. The data is absolutely important to me. The OS (XP) was formatted and safeguard reinstalled. However the old partitions remain beyond capture. If you can please help me in this, I would remain ever grateful.
I accidentally formatted my office hard drive and recreated new partitions too. Now, I am messing with my disk to recover some important documents from previously existing partitions. Tried too many professional software in past three days to undelete my lost files.
Anyone can suggest the best data recovery software for me?
My hard disk (with a ‘k’ not ‘c’!!) has a 60gb partition in it called ‘backup’. Surely if my hard disk fails, BOTH partitions will fail - because aren’t HDD failures usually due to power problems (serges etc.), meaning that should my HDD fail, i will lose both the original data AND the ‘backup’ data?
At the moment, i use a networked, external disk drive - but it is not very good (it was made by netgear)
Any ideas much appreciated.
I don’t understand how backing stuff up to this partition can make my data any mores secure - because whatever i lose from my main parition (due toa hdd failure) will surely get lost from the backup partition at the same time.
what is the point??
I recently backed up data onto a external usb drive using the windows XP backup utility.
My 60 GB hard disk (with three partitions) crashed yesterday and is not recoverable. I bought a 250 GB hardisk and have reloaded windows XP. How do I restore the data/programs from my backup drive? I have made three partitions in my new drive. How will the restoration know where to put things, since my new hard disk is larger in capacity?
