Yosemite Backup Remote Server Pack for 1 Client
Yosemite Backup Remote Server Pack for 5 Clients
Yosemite Backup Enterprise
CommVault Galaxy Express File Server Edition
CommVault Galaxy Express for Microsoft SBS
Symantec Backup Exec v11d Quickstart Edition Suite
Symantec Backup Exec v11d Small Business Server Suite
Symantec Backup Exec v11d Server Suite
Thanks for the help
The reason for the upgrade in software is because my tape drive just went bad so I’m upgrading it. I have used CA’s ArcServe 7.0 and am fairly happy with it. Not worried about ease of use as I can figure that out, I just want to see which is the best one and if anyone has had experience with them
Symantec BackupExec is THE most widely used backup software for companies.
It would be hard to go through and read off every detail about what gives you what .. but depending on the size of your company would determine what you need.
If you are only backing up a couple of servers — then maybe the Quickstart Edition or Small Business would work. If you have a full enterprise I’d say Server Suite.
Symantec bought out Veritas - makers of BackupExec 10d and below — again, most widely used Backup Software out there… as for 11d. Symantec made the software pretty easy to use and understand.
All in all, that would be my choice (and is for the company I work for).
Whichever one is simpler, is the one you will understand are are most likely to not screw up.
Whichever one is more automated is less likely to be forgotten.
Which one have you used? Have you explored free backup solutions to get a feeling for their power and features?
